Ahead of the federal election in less than two weeks, Halton Environmental Network (HEN) is hosting five community debates on the same day at the same time.
It’s all a part of Green Pac’s 100 debates of the Environment and is in collaboration with local community partners like the Canadian Federation of University Women of Oakville and Georgetown. It will include local moderators from different generations to “ask the federal candidates hard hitting questions about climate change, equity, COVID and health care.”
HEN had more to say about the importance of discussing the environment in politics.
“Climate change is an issue that affects us all and is the most pressing issue of our time. Climate change is an inherently intergenerational problem with extremely serious implications for equity between ourselves and future generations. Each debate will highlight how our community – no matter the age – sees climate as the most urgent issue.”
The virtual non-partisan, all-candidates debate on the environment and more is taking place on Wednesday, September 8th from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Submit questions, register to attend, and more here.
