The latest COVID-19 statistics from the Halton Region have been released.
Around Halton, there are 25 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,762. With 18,402 resolved cases and 238 deaths, Halton is now at 122 active cases, three more than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,762 total cases, 18,133 were confirmed positive while 629 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have six new cases. That brings us to 6065 total cases. With 5994 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 25 active cases, one less than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6065 total cases, 5843 were confirmed positive while 222 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6301 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2169 total variant cases.
An outbreak in Milton was declared on Monday, August 23rd. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 154’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases, meaning they are not Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 842,885 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 760,003 of the doses were to Halton residents.
423,445 second doses have been administered in Halton. 380,345 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,722 first doses and 22,053 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,159 first doses and 16,908 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,580 first doses and 24,233 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,501 first doses and 13 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 67,189 first doses and 85,928 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 14,011 first doses and 10,374 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 338,240 first doses and 327,143 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 435,159 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 89,824 fully immunized residents. 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
