Canada’s Olympians are settling in back at home following a very successful Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Milton had a fantastic showing at the games, with residents like Kayla Alexander, Ben Preisner, and Michael Foley or all of Cycling Canada competing. It’s hard not to be proud of our athletes.
Of course, our town just so happens to have a former Olympian in as a federal representative. Milton MP Adam van Koeverden is a four-time Olympic medalist in kayaking, with a gold at Athens 2004. He spoke with us at the All Hands on Deck Food Drive. Here’s what he had to say about this year’s games!

When asked for advice as the athletes prepare for Paris 2024, he laughed and said he’s not the one to ask for advice anymore. He assured the athletes that getting to the Olympics is an accomplishment in and of itself and pointed out that they’ll be getting ready for world championship events soon.
We collected a raft of food donations for the All Hands on Deck Food Drive. Numbers are being calculated and we’ll have the official count later in the week!
