The Halton Region has released the latest COVID-19 stats for Tuesday, July 27th.
Across Halton, there are six new cases today. The total number of cases is up to 18,162. With 17,877 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 48 active cases, one less than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,162 total cases, 17,560 were confirmed positive while 602 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have four new cases. That brings us to 5887 total cases. With 5828 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 13 active cases, three more than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 5887 total cases, 5673 were confirmed positive while 214 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6039 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2075 total variant cases.
The Halton Region says an outbreak that was reported at a workplace (now classified as ‘Health & Wellness – 1′). It was first declared on Saturday, July 10th. There were four cases being reported. All four were considered ‘Halton’ cases. The outbreak was declared over on Friday, July 23rd.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 749,323 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 674,931 of the doses were to Halton residents.
346,079 second doses have been administered in Halton. 308,955 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 32,009 first doses and 30,730 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;

- 27,945 first doses and 24,218 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 24,793 first doses and 21,433 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,533 first doses and 20,439 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,037 first doses and 15,953 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,445 first doses and 23,479 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 26 first doses and nine second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 60,011 first doses and 74,997 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,555 first doses and 9417 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 329,678 first doses and 261,665 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
