The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation (TSHF) has its latest Catch the Ace winner.
It’s holding the 50/50 draw each week. One winner is given a card from a deck. They automatically win the weekly draw, but could win the jackpot if they pull the ace of spades. Donna F. won herself $585 by pulling the five of spades.
Events Coordinator Mallory Crippen says she believes Donna heard about the contest from a friend.
She adds that Donna is likely going to buy herself something nice and try again for the big jackpot.
That jackpot is now sitting at $23,505 at the time of writing. Crippen is excited seeing that number climb week-in and week-out.
The money raised by the TSHF is helping bring a hospice to North Halton. The Foundation feels the community would be better served by having palliative and respite care available in either Milton or Halton Hills.
The hospice might end up going in the recently announced Wilfrid Laurier University-Conestoga College joint campus, to be located off Tremaine Road by the Milton Velodrome. Learn all about that here.
