The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested three men from Montreal in relation to a series of high-end vehicle thefts in Oakville.
Early in the morning on Thursday, July 8th, a group of male suspects stole four Lexus vehicles from the driveways of residents in east Oakville and Mississauga. The suspects broke into the vehicles and then utilized a reprogramming device in order to start and steal the vehicles. As a result of the investigation, the HRPS was able to identify an involved suspect vehicle. On Friday, July 9th, officers located and arrested three males in relation to the thefts.
19-year-old Kensley Nazer of Montreal is facing:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (4 counts);
- Possession of an Automobile Master Key (5 counts); and,
- Obstruct Police.
Nazer was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
22-year-old Anouar Mahrez of Montreal is facing:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (4 counts); and,
- Possession of an Automobile Master Key (5 counts).
Mahrez was released on an Undertaking.
22-year-old Sofiane Rahmani of Montreal is facing:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle (4 counts); and,
- Possession of an Automobile Master Key (5 counts).
Rahmani was released on an Undertaking.
The four stolen vehicles have since been recovered as a result of the investigation. The total value of the vehicles is approximately $200,000. Investigation is ongoing in efforts to identify the fourth male involved in these thefts.
