The Milton “Team Duggan” Oldstars Hockey Club has donated $5000 to the Milton District Hospital Foundation.
Over the course of its existence, the Club has raised over $500,000 for the hospital. That’s been through hockey tournaments, golf tournaments and other fundraising activities.
“The Milton Oldstars Hockey Club was founded on the premise that we could combine our love of hockey with fundraising efforts designed to give back to the community in which we live,” says Dave Del Papa, Oldstars Hockey Club President. “We are so grateful to our frontline healthcare workers and the clinical leaders at MDH and are honoured to support them by making sure they have the equipment they need. Thank you to our corporate and individual supporters who helped us making a lasting impact on our Town.”
MDHF Executive Director, Helen Vatistas says that while the team is always competitive on the ice, their biggest achieve is off the ice through fundraising.
“Our community is much richer and healthier because of their generosity and we are proud to count the Milton Oldstars as our friends, donors and ambassadors. It is the commitment of donors, like the Oldstars, that has enabled us to purchase the much needed medical equipment to enhance services to our patients.”
Government funding does not cover the purchase of new and replacement medical equipment.
