The Milton District Hospital Foundation is saying ‘thank you’.
Their annual Ladies Play Day Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, September 29th at Crosswinds Golf and Country Club.
The Community Engagement Officer with the MDHF, Vanessa Briguglio, says they raised a lot for the Foundation.
It was a new format this year for the tournament. It was no longer going to be a shotgun start, but instead, the women were to be spaced out through tee-off times. The golf course suggested the switch to help with physical distancing measures. With the women spaced out in intervals, they were still able to do a lot of the activities they had done in past years.
Briguglio says the women that came out really enjoyed themselves.
The Milton District Hospital Foundation relies heavily on local donations and fundraisers. With the COVID-19 pandemic taking up most of the year, a lot of events have been cancelled or altered. This has impacted the MDHF in a significant way. Briguglio says the money raised at the tournament is a generous contribution to the hospital, adding that the more than $18,000 raised blew their expectations out of the water.
Stay tuned for more MDHF events in the near future.
