The Halton District School Board has released their reopening plan for the new school year.
One of the five focuses is instruction, and how teachers and students will operate in the classroom.
Students will be in class cohorts, adhering to social distancing protocols, and wearing non-medical masks if they are in Grades 4 – 8.
Non-medical masks for students in Kindergarten to Gr. 3 are encouraged but not mandatory.
Students in Grades 3 and 6 will not participate in EQAO assessments in the 2020-21 school year
Students in Grade 9 – 12 will cycle through their courses physically attending one per day for 180 minutes before transitioning home for synchronous instruction in two other courses each afternoon.
Required cohorting means that the face-to-face instruction will be shared with Cohort A and B, each receiving two or three days of face-to-face instruction in that course per week.
Field trips will be paused until students are allowed to do so safely.
