A protest outside of the Halton Police Headquarters took place on Tuesday for Regan Russell who was killed last month.
She was giving water to pigs crammed into a transport truck trailer when she was killed outside a Burlington slaughterhouse.
A driver has now been charged with careless driving, the Halton Police did not release the name.
In attendance was her widower, Mark Powell, who was in awe of the support.

The group is also calling for Bill 156 to be repealed.

“Inspector L’Ortye was at the protest this morning speaking with media.
“He reiterated our sincere condolences to the family of Regan Russell and all those touched by the tragedy.
“We also acknowledge that there was no outcome that would satisfy all the involved parties however members of our Collision Reconstruction Unit undertook an exhaustive and comprehensive investigation into this incident which included interviews of witnesses, the video of the collision and a technical reconstruction.”
