The Federal Government is putting money to help solve food insecurity in Milton.
Through the Local Food Infrastructure Fund, Country Heritage Park and Community Living North Halton received a combined $36,000.
The mission of the program is to reduce food insecurity by establishing and/or strengthening local food systems in the medium to longer term.
Iβm thrilled to announce federal funding for two great local #Milton organizations today, @CLNorthHalton & Country Heritage Agricultural Society. Thank you for stepping up with local solutions to fight food insecurity here in Milton & across Canada.#FoodPolicy4Canada

Milton MP Adam van Koeverden says these kinds of causes are a high priority for him.
He adds that COVID-19 has highlighted the need for this kind of program.
He also credits local organizations for the work they do in Milton.
In April, the Government also launched a separate, $100 million emergency fund under the Local Food Infrastructure Fund to help local organizations across Canada.
This fund supports the purchase and distribution of food on an emergency basis across the country.
