Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School will now be called St. Francis Xavier.
The motion passed unanimously during the Halton Catholic District School Board’s meeting on Tuesday night.
Halton Catholic District School Board Trustee, Marvin Duarte says the name reflects the community.
He adds that you will start to see changes soon.
The name has been approved by Bishop Douglas Crosby.
The name change comes after news broke that leader of L’Arche community, Jean Vanier, sexually abused six women.
