The CN Intermodal Environmental Assessment has been released by the review panel, and the results are a mixed bag.
Within the summary, the Panel said that the project would cause significant environmental effects on the area.
However, those effects would have happened regardless due to the planned development in the area.
One of the concerns that the panel has raised revolves around air quality.
The panel states in the summary that the project would have significant adverse cumulative environmental effects on air quality, human health, wildlife habitat, and the availability of agricultural land.
The Review Panel Report will now be reviewed by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the federal Cabinet, they have 150 days to make a ruling.
