Milton has lost one of it’s most prolific historians.
Jim Dills passed away at his home on Friday, July 19th.
He was 88-years old.
Town Councillor for Ward 2, John Challinor, says Dills was one of the main factors in establishing the Milton Historical Society.
Councillor Challinor adds that his favourite memory of Jim Dills was when they began researching Milton together.
He says Dills ‘volun-told’ Challinor to help out.
Their work led to writing three books on local history together.
He says that passion will live long in others at the Society.
A public celebration of Dills’ life will be held at the St. Paul’s United Church in Milton on Saturday, September 7th, at 2:00p.m..
