A Burlington man has been charged after running a red light, causing a collision in Grimsby.
On Thursday, March 6th, at roughly 1:41 p.m. Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) officers responded to the area of Christie Street and Clarke Street in Grimsby for a Motor Vehicle Collision call for service.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed that two vehicles were involved in a collision. One vehicle, a transport truck, was travelling north bound on Christie Street when the driver entered the intersection and struck a grey ford focus. The transport truck left the roadway and struck a guard rail, lodging the vehicle alongside the Christie Street QEW highway overpass.
No injuries were reported.
As a result, the driver of the transport truck, a 70-year-old Burlington man, was charged with:
- Red Light – Fail to Stop
The north bound roadway on Christie Street and the QEW Eastbound ramp were temporarily closed as a result of the accident.
