A new exhibit has launched at the Helson Gallery in Halton Hills.
Perspectives: Exploring the Town of Halton Hills’ Art Collections features a curated selection of art from the esteemed Helson Collection, presented in pairings with more modern works carefully selected from the Town and Public Library’s art collections to explore connections and help to see the artworks in new ways.
It showcases both historical and contemporary pieces, examining their visual, thematic and contextual similarities. By thoughtfully comparing paintings from the Helson Collection with works from the library and Town collection, the exhibit provides unique perspectives into these selected artworks. We invite the public to explore these treasures.
“Come and enjoy the spectacular art that generous donors such as Fred Helson have given our residents,” says Halton Hills Mayor Anne Lawlor. “The Town’s art collection is a treasure that inspires and uplifts, even on chilly winter days.”
The exhibit will be on display at the Helson Gallery until Sunday, March 23rd. You can find the gallery at 9 Church Street in Georgetown, which is open Wednesday to Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
