The Town of Milton has received its quarterly payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG).
Four times a year, the Town receives a payment from OLG for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk. Milton just received $1,226,422. This is the third of four payments over the fiscal year. So far, during OLG’s fiscal year, Milton has received $5,406,676. Since the gaming site opened in August 1999, Milton has received $147,875,365.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help pave the way for Milton to build critical infrastructure and fund important programs that make a real difference for residents,” says Zee Hamid, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “Elements Casino Mohawk supports numerous jobs and generates a great deal of economic activity that, in turn, improves the well-being of our local community.”
The Town of Milton uses part of the funding it receives from OLG for the Milton Community Fund Program.
Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
