A pedestrian bridge over the GO Transit Lakeshore West line in Burlington will be demolished and replaced with a modern structure.
Built in 1972, the Drury Lane Pedestrian Bridge is nearing the end of its service life, prompting Metrolinx to plan its removal and reconstruction. The new bridge will feature improved accessibility and higher clearance to accommodate future rail electrification.
Preparations for the project, including site setup and safety measures, will begin in mid-January, with demolition scheduled for Friday, March 7th – Monday, March 10th.
During construction, a detour will be in place for pedestrians, and Metrolinx will host a public information meeting in February.
