It’s hard to lose when you don’t give up a goal.
The Milton Menace welcomed in the Pickering Panthers on Wednesday, December 18th. Heading into the match-up that, despite their unfamiliarity with the Panthers, Menace Captain Graeme MacAuley noted that the boys were expecting a win.
The first period was uneventful from a scoring standpoint, with Pickering actually outshooting Milton 12-11.
That took us to the second period, where Ivan Fabjan was the one to break the seal. His 9th of the year was assisted by the new guys, Justin Dezoete and Luke Johnston. The Menace took that one goal into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Menace shut things down. They allowed just six shots on net in the final frame, helping new goaltender Carter Bickle get his first shutout with the team. Milton beat Pickering 1-0.
Bickle’s perfect night was highlighted by only facing 23 shots.
Next up for the Menace is a road game against the Burlington Cougars. Puck drop at the Central Arena will be at 7:30 p.m.
After another road game this weekend, the Menace will return home on Tuesday, January 7th. They take on the Mississauga Chargers after a nice holiday break. Game time at the Milton Memorial Arena will be at 7:00 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
