You can ‘Pay It Forward’ at the Lunchbox Café!
Community Living North Halton (CLNH) runs the restaurant in Milton, providing people with developmental disabilities an opportunity to learn new skills and pursue jobs in the community.
For the second year in a row, CLNH is holding their Pay It Forward campaign. Integrated Marketing Specialist for the organization, Sheldon Samlall, says it’s a great way to help those in need.
To get a free meal, all you need to do is grab a receipt and exchange it for a tasty meal. If you’d like to purchase a meal for someone else to pay it forward, just ask!
So far, the campaign is about on-par with what last year’s initiative was able to do. Samlall notes that last year’s totals were around 40 meals.
This year’s campaign began on December 3rd and the plan is to run the campaign until December 31st.
CLNH offers residential services, recreational programs, programs for people with autism, job skill training, and much more. Learn more about the organization here.
The organization is also selling a ‘Recipe for Connection’ 2025 calendar. It features recipes from all over the world, courtesy of the organization’s clients and staff. Samlall says the goal is to promote the strength and diversity of CLNH, as well as showcasing personal favourites of the community. The calendar is being sold for $20 at the Lunchbox Cafe and the CLNH headquarters, with all proceeds funding their programs and services.
