The Milton Menace fell to the trap in Caledon last night.
On Thursday, November 14th, the Menace faced off against the Admirals at the Mayfield Recreation Complex. Coming in to the game, Caledon had just one win in 21 games played this season.
It was the Menace who got on the board first. Kaden Smith scored his 1st of the year, assisted by Madden MacDougall and Andrew Giljanovic. The Admirals would quickly follow up with a game-tying goal, and then jumped out to a one-goal lead. They’d take that 2-1 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, Caledon put some cushion in between themselves and Milton, scoring once again. It was 3-1 Admirals after 40-minutes of action.
The Menace had to wake up in the third period, and they managed to pull of a comeback. It started with Owen Kindree scoring his 1st of the year with less than two minutes in the game. Less than a minute later, Gabriel Ciarallo would score his team-leading 14th of the year, and tie the game before the final buzzer. It was 3-3 at the end of regulation.
This game went to overtime, where Caledon would end up scoring the game winner. Milton would lose 4-3 in OT.
In net for the Menace to start the game was Noah Blitstein. It was the 17-year-olds first action in the OJHL, and he gave up 3 goals on 9 shots. He got chased just 22 minutes into the game, leading to the Meance leaning on all-star Austin McKillop. He was perfect until the first shot of overtime, stopping 9 of 10 shots.
The Menace now head to Oakville to take on the Blades. Game time at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex is set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15th.
Their next home game is set for Sunday, November 17th. They’ll take on the Lindsay Muskies at 6:00 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
