The latest update on the CN Intermodal Hub is not a positive for Milton and its residents.
According to reports, a three-judge panel has voted in favour with the decision made by the federal government to allow CN to build the terminal. The unanimous decision was made on Friday.
In July, Milton Mayor Gord Krantz fired off on CN, the Milton Chamber of Commerce, and the federal government’s ruling in a letter.
“This is the wrong project in the wrong place. A site like this should not operate close to current and planned residential neighbourhoods,” he said in the letter.
The Hub would be built in Milton’s Ward 4, across 400 acres of land along Tremaine Road. The project includes a new mainline rail, which will double the existing track line and add over 20 km of new rail yard track.
