The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) are continuing their search for Tom Shade.
In the early afternoon hours of Friday, May 10th, officers were conducting an investigation at a hotel in the area of the South Service Road and Walkers Line in Burlington. They located a vehicle associated to the wanted 41-year-old male suspect.
Shade is currently wanted for the charges of Dangerous Drive, Flight from Police and Fail to Remain at Scene of a Collision. HRPS officers attempted to arrest Shade; however, he fled the scene on foot.
Multiple schools in the area were placed in hold and secure protocols, but those have since been lifted by the HRPS.
While searching for Shade, officers located a loaded firearm, drugs, and other discarded property, and a warning was issued to residents. Several potential sightings were reported and an extensive search was undertaken by the HRPS. This search included patrol and tactical officers as well as the K9 unit. At the time of writing, Shade remains outstanding.
Residents can expect a police presence in the areas of southern Burlington between Guelph Line and Walkers Line as officers continue the investigation.
Police would like to remind residents that Shade should be considered dangerous and if seen, do not approach him. Contact police by calling 911.
