The original purpose of the study was to dive into the financial aspect of weddings. 52% said they paid less than $10,000, while 20% paid over $30,000!
It also covered wedding day regrets! The most common regrets were:

- guest list

ICYMI – Easy way to help the Halton Police find your stolen vehicle
You can help the Halton Police find your car after it gets stolen. Auto thefts continue to be a problem in Halton, and as much as you and the police work hard on preventing it, there’s always the possibility that your car gets stolen. Last May, the HRPS teamed up with local auto dealerships for Project Oxygen. It offers a service that allows vehicle owners to hide third party tracking devices within their vehicles. If your car gets stolen, and as long as it’s within a well-hidden/hard-to-reach place, the tracking device can help officers track down the car before it’s gone for good. Since the campaign launched 11 months ago, at least 86 vehicles have been recovered by Halton Police thanks to these trackers. Project Oxygen will continue for another year! Get one put in your car ASAP!
Daily WTF – Axe Body Spray Finds an Unlikely New Customer
For 13-year-old boys everywhere, Axe body spray is an easy way to smell nice for a low, low price. The issue that many of these teenage boys run into is they just use way too much. Hallways at schools can cause coughing fits with how much cologne and body spray that is used at times. This has led to a bit of a bad reputation for Axe body spray, but that hasn’t swayed one farmer in the UK. She actually found that it works great in her line of work. She looks after a large number of sheep, and to help with the aggression of the rams on her farm, she sprays them with Axe. Why? Apparently, it helps hide the hormones that causes aggression in the rams, and they stop ramming into each other. And she’s not the only sheep farmer to use this trick! Axe body spray is a growing trend among sheep farmers as a way to calm their rams. If only this worked on humans, we wouldn’t have teenage boys treating their school libraries like it’s the main event of WrestleMania every day.
Karaoke fundraiser raises over $1600 for local charity
Last month, Ned Devine’s hosted Active Results Collaborative for another ‘Sing for a Cause’ fundraiser. This time, they were raising money for the Milton Community Resource Centre and their She Can! programs. People were able to donate a minimum of $5 to sing their favourite karaoke songs or have the pros sing it for them. They announced this week that, after final tallies, they raised over $1600! Another event is happening in September, which will raise money for Halton Women’s Place.
Daily Did You Know – Pinkies Out: Milton Public Library announces Tea Festival
If you’re a tea drinker, you’ll love to hear that the Milton Public Library will hold a festival covering all things tea! Tea Fest will take place on Saturday, May 4th at the Sherwood Community Centre. It’s going to be an all day event, starting at 10am, and taking place inside Rink 2. There will be taste testing, vendors, workshops, and more – all focusing on some good ol’ chai. Some things do need pre-registration, so sign up now!
Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department finds the star vulnerable but vicious
Taylor Swift has released another album! ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ came out overnight. It came out twice, actually! She released a double album. Many people stayed up just to listen to it. I made my attempt this morning, but I could only get so far into it. It’s like 31 songs long, I don’t have a lot of time in the morning – leave me alone… I will say, the song that has everyone going bananas this morning is ‘thanK you aIMee’. People believe the song is about Kim Kardashian, and it’s not a friendly one either. But, expect Taylor to top the charts for the next while, and she’ll be all over the headlines. She’s still touring as well, and she’ll be in Canada this summer. New Taylor! Have fun listening to that on repeat all weekend.
Pamela Anderson Joins Liam Neeson In Paramount’s New ‘Naked Gun’ Movie
Earlier this week, we talked about how Liam Neeson will be taking over the ‘Naked Gun’ movie series. The films, along with Airplane!, gave Leslie Nielsen new life as a comedic actor, and it seems Liam Neeson could be thinking the same thing. Their names are even strikingly similar! But, it appears they have found Neeson’s co-star for the reboot. Pamela Anderson has officially signed on to play the love interest. She’ll take over a role that is expected to be comparable to the one played by Priscilla Presley in the original. The question everyone wants answered: Will they find an OJ replacement?
Katy Perry officially leaving American Idol and she wants a specific person to be her replacement
After months and months of speculation, Katy Perry has announced her departure from American Idol. She’s been a judge on the show for seven seasons, which is one shy of Paula Abdul and that blows my mind. But, when asked about it recently, Perry says she wants a specific person to replace her. That person is: Jelly Roll. The country singer and rapper has blown up over the years, and fans love him for his music and personality. Jelly Roll made an appearance on the show and Perry says he’d be the perfect person to stay long-term. What do you think? Who would you want as a judge on American Idol? Infamous white Ford Bronco from O.J. Simpson’s police chase up for sale
If you’re in the market for a used car, might I suggest a 1993 white Ford Bronco? The infamous vehicle owned by OJ Simpson and used in the snail’s pace police chase back in the summer of 1994 is reportedly going up for sale. This comes following the death of Simpson last week. It’s actually owned by Al Cowlings, the man who was driving the vehicle during the chase, with OJ in the backseat. I’ll be honest, up until fairly recently, I always thought it was OJ driving the Bronco! This thing happened two months before I was born, so I only know of it as this major pop culture event that’s been referenced a million times in movies and TV shows, so I apologize for not being fully in the know… But yeah, OJ was apparently in the backseat and was not doing too well. So, Cowlings and a group of co-owners are looking to sell the white Bronco. They’re hoping for at least $1.5 million US. If you have that kind of cash, it’s all yours. Hey, at least we know it can outrun the police…
Martin Scorsese to revive Frank Sinatra biopic with specific actor in mind
Martin Scorsese already has his next movie lined up! It’ll be a Frank Sinatra biopic and Marty has an actor in mind for Ol’ Blue Eyes: Leonardo DiCaprio. This one made sense to me when I first heard it, because Leo is kind of Marty’s guy as of late. But, when I told my wife this news last night, she raised a good question: “Shouldn’t they get someone younger?” I have to say, I think she might be right! Not to say Leo isn’t incredible or even that he’s old – it’s not that. But if it’s going to be a biopic, shouldn’t they have someone who can play an 18-year-old Sinatra and then age him up for 68-year-old Sinatra? Maybe they just trust CGI that much, and I’m sure Leo will crush it, but boy, this will be interesting to see…
Jason Kelce says he’s lost his Super Bowl LII ring… in a pool filled with chili
Jason Kelce has become a household name over the last year or so, in part because his brother Travis is dating the most famous woman on the planet: Taylor Swift. While Travis and Taylor might be celebrating Swift’s new album, Jason is down in the dumps. Jason announced recently that, at an event in their home city of Cincinnati, he lost his 2017 Super Bowl ring. The event in question saw replica Super Bowl rings tied to socks hidden within a large pool of Cincinnati’s famous Skyline Chili. Thing is, the catch was that one of the replicas would actually be Jason’s real ring that he won with the Philadelphia Eagles. It turns out, they never found the real one. They spent hours after the event, sifting through the pounds and pounds of chili, even bringing out metal detectors to search for it… Nothing! Unlike his brother Travis, Jason Kelce has just the one ring, so he’s a little bummed about this. He’s put an insurance claim in on it, and he’s unsure if they’ll be happy about the REASON why it’s gone. If you’re wondering, Super Bowl rings, especially owned by big name players, are worth more than $200,000. He lost a $200,000 ring in essentially a giant bowl of chili… poor guy.
