It was a tournament of records for the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF)!
The 8th annual ‘Teeing Off for a Miracle’ charity golf tournament was held on Thursday, June 29th at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton. After selling out the spots in a record time of just two-days in March, it’s been announced that the TSJF also raised a record of $210,000 at this year’s tournament. That money will go towards helping families in need around the holidays.
Speaking in studio, Tiger Jeet Singh Jr. says that he is blown away by the support that they have amassed over the years, and it’s gearing towards a big season for Miracle on Main Street!
Tiger adds that Miracle on Main Street may even sprout from its home here in Milton, past Brampton, and head out west. He says Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah shared at the charity golf tournament’s banquet that he was approached by other municipalities around Canada about incorporating Miracle on Main Street into their Toys for Tots toy drives.
Miracle on Main first joined forces with the Halton Police in 2018, and the Peel Police in the last few years. Tiger has previously shared his desire to make Miracle on Main Street a more national event, but his perspective has shifted in the time since, saying now that he’d be open to the idea of doing more events but the offers would have to be there, and the timing would have to be right.
Last winter, the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area (DMBIA) had to cancel their annual Downtown Milton WinterFest event due to heavy winds. That was when the TJSF took in the WinterFest and they combined the two events on the night of Miracle on Main Street. That opportunity has since spurred a relationship between the two organizations, as both events will now combine into one to create a spectacular festival.
Miracle on Main Street will take place in Brampton this November. Milton’s event will then happen in December along Main Street. The annual event collects toys from residents and donates them to families in need during the Christmas season.
