The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the newly launched crime map.
READ: One of two Milton carjacking suspects arrested
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, February 20th and Monday, February 27th, there were at least 56 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
Among the 56 cases of crime, 14 were roadside tests, 13 were listed as motor vehicle collision cases (including hit and runs), and 12 were theft cases (including vehicle thefts).
More unique cases on the map include one robbery (which based on its location on the map could be the carjacking case), as well as a break and enter case on Gibson Crescent.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
