Are you looking for answers on the rise in vehicle thefts in Milton and the surrounding area?
There will be a meeting at the Milton Sports Centre on the rise in auto thefts. It’s being run by Regional Councillor for Ward 4 Sameera Ali and Town Councillor for Ward Adil Khalqi. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).

The discussion will cover prevention tips offered by the HRPS. Those include:
- Park your vehicle in a locked and secured garage
- Install an on-board diagnostic blocker
- Install a steering wheel lock device
- Combine the above measures with an aftermarket GPS tracking device
- Place vehicle key fob inside a radio frequency shielding bag when not in use
- Lock your vehicle at all times
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm
- Install home security cameras that capture the exterior of your residence, including the driveway
- Take steps to conceal the Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.)
The public meeting will be on Saturday, March 4th at the Milton Sports Centre. It will run 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
