John Challinor announced today that he will seek re-election on October 24, 2022, as Local Councillor, Ward 2, Town of Milton.
Challinor, who has served local residents for 19 years over two tours of duty (1991 – 2006 and 2018 – 2022) as a member of Milton Council, said the Town of Milton will make decisions over the next four years that will establish the community’s direction for the next 40 years.
These key decisions include approval of a new Official Plan, approval of five secondary plans affecting residential and commercial development, fundamental changes to how core services are delivered to residents and key operating and capital budget expenditures.
“Over the next four years, the residents of Ward 2 need a local councillor who is clearly in their corner, one who balances the financial challenges faced by the municipality with their ability to pay, one who knows the importance of long-term planning and helps Council and staff make convincing arguments to the other levels of government in a way that benefits the majority of Miltonians; and one who understands that, at its core, the Town of Milton exists to deliver broadly-based, key services to taxpayers efficiently, effectively and in a high-quality fashion,” said Mr. Challinor. “I will maintain that single-minded focus for the next four years. I have kept the promises I made to my constituents in 2018. I would appreciate the support of the residents of Ward 2 so that, together, we can continue to build on one of the very best communities in Ontario with which to live, work and play.”
