The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation (TSHF) is finalizing a deal on their official location.
The hospice is planned to go on the property of Hillcrest United Church in Georgetown. It’s just across from Pineview Elementary School on Trafalgar Road.
This has been a long process for Townsend Smith. In the last three years, there have been several teased locations for the potential hospice, including the old train station on Chris Hadfield Way, and a location within the Milton Education Village on Tremaine Road where the Wilfrid Laurier University/Conestoga College Milton campus is being placed.
The organization’s fundraising coordinator Mallory Crippen says there’s no timeline just yet.
The TSHF is holding a weekly Catch the Ace raffle. It’s a progressive 50/50 raffle, meaning there are two separate winning piles: the weekly pot and the main jackpot. Each week, a winner is chosen and a card is pulled. If it’s not the ace of spaces, the winner only wins the weekly pot. If they pull the ace of spades, they win both pots of cash. Portions of the raffle tickets sold also go to the TSHF.
The next draw will be Friday, May 13th at 12:00 p.m.. To participate and buy your tickets, click here.
