The Milton Menace are the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s West Division champs!
They also have not lost a playoff game in franchise history. Heading into Tuesday night, the Menace were up 1-0 in the three-game series with the Burlington Cougars. This is after sweeping the Georgetown Raiders 2-0 in the first round.
Things started off strong for the Milton Menace too. Captain Jordan Stock struck first, scoring the lone goal in the first period, assisted by Lucas Buzziol. It was 1-0 after 20.
The second period, hometown boy Ryan O’Donnell scored for the Menace to make it 2-0, assisted by Aidan Hughes and Ryan Holmes. Burlington scored back-to-back goals to tie the game 2-2 after two.
Hughes (assisted by Holmes and O’Donnell) then scored 4:50 into the third period to make it 3-2 Milton. Burlington tied it up ten minutes later, but it was a goal from Ethan Sims, assisted by Owen Forester and Holden Rogers, with just over four minutes to go that sealed the deal.
Milton won 4-3, and clinched their first Divisional title.
The OJHL Conference Finals begin on Friday. We’ll have more on Milton’s matchup as we get closer to the weekend.
