The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) was among several law enforcement agencies that took part in a joint commercial motor vehicle enforcement blitz in Lincoln last week.
On Wednesday, April 16th, local officers partnered with the Niagara Regional Police Service, Hamilton Police, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Ministry of Transportation. The initiative targeted transport trucks bypassing the Lincoln Inspection Station on the QEW—an area flagged by residents for high truck traffic.
The goal was simple: ensure commercial vehicles on local roads meet Ontario’s strict safety standards. Officers carried out 35 in-depth inspections, resulting in 14 vehicles being taken off the road for major safety concerns. Two sets of licence plates were seized, and 22 charges were laid for issues ranging from faulty brakes to insecure loads and missing inspection reports.
The public is encouraged to report commercial vehicle concerns directly to local traffic enforcement units, helping keep Ontario’s roads safe for everyone.
