The Town of Milton is celebrating $7.3 million in contributions from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation for the 2024 fiscal year.
These funds, provided through the Municipal Contribution Agreement (MCA), help support community programs, park improvements, and local organizations.
Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz joined OLG representatives to highlight recent upgrades to Trudeau Park, where $100,000 in OLG funds supported a new accessible playground, improved pathways, shelters, benches, and other amenities based on community feedback.
“The Town of Milton is pleased to recognize another contribution from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation,” adds Mayor Krantz. “Trudeau Park is one of many examples that show how OLG proceeds continue to bring lasting benefits to our community. We graciously acknowledge their continuing investments in Milton.”
A portion of OLG contributions also supports local sports, arts, and festivals through the Milton Community Fund and Small Grants Program.
“OLG is proud to be a vital part of the Town of Milton,” says Kathleen Devine, Senior Municipal Relations Manager, OLG. “Every year, 100% of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities. From critical infrastructure to important local programs, to community festivals, and community grant programs, OLG’s profits are hard at work in the Town of Milton and across our province to build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Elements Casino Mohawk, whose work helps to generate community investments. When you play at an Ontario casino, you play for Ontario.”
Since opening its Mohawk facility in 1999, OLG has provided nearly $150 million to the Town of Milton to invest in local priorities and enhance the community experience.
