A Georgetown resident has been arrested following a RIDE spot check by Caledon OPP.
On Friday, March 28th, shortly after 10:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the intersection of Old School Road and McLaughlin Road in Caledon. They quickly located alcoholic drinks available to their driver in the vehicle. You can view the picture above to see what was seized by the police.
The 27-year-old driver was charged for driving while having liquor readily available.
In a social media post, Caledon OPP reminded residents that no person shall drive or have the care of a motor vehicle (whether in motion or not) with liquor, except:
- In a container that is unopened and the seal unbroken; or
- Packed in baggage that is fastened closed or not otherwise readily available to any person in the vehicle
