The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a longtime member of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) and charged him with fraud.
The investigation by the OPP’s Anti-Rackets Branch began in February 2023 following multiple complaints of fraud in relation to an investment scheme.
Sergeant Jon Williams has been with the HRPS for 18-years. He has been charged with one count of Fraud Over $5,000, in addition to two other individuals with no connection to the police service.
As per the Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA), Williams is suspended from duty with pay.
The HRPS believes the investigation has ended.
