The Milton Menace are on a roll in these OJHL Playoffs.
After not being able to get a win over the Collingwood Blues in the regular season, the Menace went into the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena on Friday, March 21st to start their second round series.
Could they get the job done?
Ivan Fabjan would open the scoring for Milton, netting his 6th of the postseason, assisted by Ashtyn Pacheco and Spencer Vandenberg. It’d be the lone goal in the opening frame, as the Menace would lead 1-0 after 20 minutes of action.
No scoring would happen in the 2nd period, as the Menace led the game in shots, 21-16. It was still 1-0 after two periods of play.
In the final period, the game would get a bit more physical, as officials would call the only penalties of the game in these final 20 minutes. Justin Dezoete would add some insurance for Milton late in the period, with Madden MacDougall and Luke Johnston being credited with the helpers. That’d be all she wrote, as the Menace would beat the Blues 2-0.
Carter Bickle was in net for the win, stopping all 29 shots for the shutout win.
The next game was in Milton on Sunday, March 23rd.
1031 people filled the Milton Memorial Arena to see if the Menace could go up two games in the second round series.
Madden MacDougall continued his hot playoff run with his 7th of the postseason late in the first period, assisted by Justin Dezoete and Owen Kindree. It was 1-0 Milton after 20 minutes.
In the second period, MacDougall buried his 2nd of the game, assisted by Dezoete and Luke Johnston. For the second time in the series, the Menace were up 2-0 over the Blues.
The boys would keep the offence humming in the final frame, with Cole Semeniuk getting on the board. Dezoete and Johnston were credited with assists once again. With the net empty late in the game, Captain Graeme MacAuley would score his 3rd of the playoffs, assisted by Johnston and Markus Hicks. The Menace would win 4-0.
Carter Bickle was in net once again. He stopped 41 shots to remain perfect in the second round series.
