A Toronto Police officer has been charged by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).
On Thursday, March 13th, the HRPS responded to a call in Milton regarding a report that an off-duty TPS officer had accidentally discharged their police-issued firearm. No one was injured.
The HRPS Regional Investigative Services reviews all firearm discharges by police service members and, as a result of that investigation, has charged TPS Constable Alison Cowley with one count of Careless Use of a Firearm.
She is scheduled to appear in a Milton court on Monday, April 28th.
As the matter is now before the Courts, the HRPS will not be providing any further updates.
