The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested four suspects in a drug trafficking investigation.
Titled Project Cortex, the four-month long investigation targeted a trafficking network operating in Halton and throughout Hamilton. In February and March, police executed four search warrants at residences in Burlington, Oakville, and Grimsby.
As a result of the warrants, the following items have been seized:
- A loaded Glock 30s handgun with defaced serial number
- A loaded Glock 25 9mm handgun
- Two loaded magazines (hollow point rounds)
- One extended magazine
- 2 boxes of ammunition
- 19.5 kilograms of Cocaine
- 1 kilogram of Fentanyl
- 100 ml of GHB
- 138 oxycodone pills
- 40 clonazepam pills
- 10 grams of crystal meth
- $42,750 Canadian currency
Police have also made four arrests and laid more than 20 charges.
34-year-old Ahmad Hassan of Oakville has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (oxycodone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (hydromorphone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (amphetamines)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (clonazepam)
25-year-old Suber Liban of Grimsby has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (cocaine)
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (2 counts)
- Tampering with Serial Number
- Possession of Prohibited Device
43-year-old Sarah Andersen of Burlington has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance (cocaine) 3 counts
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (crystal meth)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (oxycodone)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (clonazepam)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (gamma-hydroxybutyrate)
29-year-old Duvontaye Gray of Grimsby has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
