Guelph Police arrested three people for stunt driving this week, including a Georgetown man.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 12th, a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was conducting speed enforcement on Clair Road West. A 59-year-old Cambridge man and 19-year-old Georgetown man were both charged with stunt driving for travelling at least 90 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Later in the day, at roughly 9:45 p.m., a member of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit was conducting speed enforcement near Woodlawn Road East and Golfview Road when he clocked a Toyota travelling 134 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. A 20-year-old Guelph woman is charged with stunt driving.
Each of the drivers had their licences suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days. A stunt driving conviction will attract a minimum licence suspension of one year, a minimum fine of $2,000 and six demerit points.
