There is less than a week until the 2025 provincial election!
We’re reaching out to all six registered candidates in Milton for one-on-one interviews. Each candidate in Milton has been offered the same opportunity as the others: a chance to answer the same questions as the rest, with each one breaking down a concern or issue affecting Miltonians. These interviews are being done as a first come, first served basis and are published shortly after being recorded.
Our fourth interview is with Mohsin Rizvi, who is representing the Ontario Centrist Party. Residents might know him as a local volunteer soccer coach. He was available by phone for this interview.
Here’s our interview:
INT – I always like to start these interviews off nice and simple – give me an elevator pitch on your platform/campaign?
Audio PlayerINT – You somewhat touched on it a little bit, but I want to bring up tariffs. It’s been the hot topic of 2025 so far. What are your thoughts on this trade war that’s sprung up this year?
Audio PlayerINT – Transit continues to be a major issue for Miltonians. The poster child for that is the all-day, two-way GO service that keeps being promised. Where do you stand on that?
Audio PlayerINT – Education has consistently been cut over the years. Milton’s obviously had its own issues with lack of space over the years… A lot of schools with a lot of portables. What’s your plan for helping with education?
Audio PlayerINT – I always section off a part of these interviews for local environmental groups. People fighting against things like the CN Intermodal Hub and the Campbellville Quarry. Do you plan on addressing these concerns and helping these residents should you be elected as the next MPP next week?
Audio PlayerINT – The provincial government has issued a growth mandate for Milton. We and all of Halton have to reach a certain population number by 2051, essentially its government enforced development. What’s your stance on this growth, development, and the infrastructure needed to make it happen?
Audio PlayerINT – Last one is always open-ended. Is there anything you’d like to address that I haven’t asked about? Any issues or concerns?
