The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is inviting parents, students, staff, and community members to share feedback on the 2025-2026 budget.
With declining student enrolment due to aging neighborhoods and slower growth in Halton, the HDSB faces funding challenges, resulting in a $1.8 million deficit that must be addressed in the upcoming budget. The Board is focused on balancing resources, containing costs, and minimizing impacts while aligning with funding limitations.
To support transparency, the HDSB held a public information session on Monday, January 20th, answering community questions. A recording, FAQs, and additional resources are available here.
Community feedback will guide the budget process, aligning spending with the HDSB’s 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan and annual operating goals.
An online survey available to the public will be open until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9th.
