Health Canada has issued a recall on certain egg brands due to a salmonella risk.
The original food recall from Saturday, January 18th has been updated to include additional egg products recalled at the hotel, restaurant, and institution level (marked with ***). The affected eggs, identified by specific lot codes, are being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Brands with codes can be found below:
What You Should Do:
- If you feel sick after consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.
- Check for the recalled products in your home and avoid consuming, serving, or selling them.
- Dispose of affected products or return them to the place of purchase.
- If unsure about your purchase, contact your retailer for confirmation.
Salmonella contamination may not be visible but can cause serious illness, particularly in vulnerable groups like children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea, with potential long-term complications like arthritis. Stay cautious and take preventive measures.
