The Ontario government has awarded a contract for tree clearing for the Bradford Bypass.
The work, is part of a broader $28 billion plan to upgrade Ontario’s transportation infrastructure.
Crews have started clearing trees between the 400 and Simcoe County Road 4, with work expected to finish in the new year, setting the stage for utility relocations and further construction.
Once completed, the 16.3-kilometre bypass will connect Highway 404 and the 400, possibly reducing commute times by 35 minutes and creating up to 2,200 jobs.
