It’s that time of the year!
The Salvation Army Khi Community is getting ready for their 2024 Kettle Campaign. The fundraising campaign will be held Thursday, November 21st to Tuesday, December 24th at six permanent locations. There will also be several pop-up locations during the season.
Each location will be equipped with Tip Tap machines, inviting debit/credit donations of $5, $10, or $20. The goal for this season is $200,000, a $35,000 increase from last year’s totals to fund critical community support programs.
Salvation Army Khi Community Director and Officer Ruth Hickman says community involvement is vital.
To achieve their goal, the Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to fill more than 800 two-hour shifts. New and previous volunteers can book shifts and training here. Student volunteers are welcome, with confirmation of hours provided at the end of the season.
They anticipate more than 1000 food bank appointments over the next five weeks, including 50-60 families accessing food supports for the first time.
The Salvation Army Khi Community can be found at 820 Nipissing Road in Milton. Learn more about the local Salvation Army and their food bank here.
