Two Mississauga women have been arrested by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) following a police chase.
On Saturday, November 16th, at roughly 1:30 a.m., police attempted a traffic stop in the area of Kobzar Drive and Travertine Drive. The vehicle accelerated away from police at a high rate of speed.
Police were able to stop the vehicle with the use of a tire deflation device near Trafalgar Road on the eastbound 407. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody at that time.
As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Maryam Saleem has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
- Flight from Police
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Alina Aleem has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
