Your Taylor Swift tickets might not be real!
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a series of ticket frauds involving the Taylor Swift concert series currently taking place in Toronto.
On Thursday, November 14th, the HRPS began receiving a number of complaints involving undelivered tickets. To date, the HRPS has now received roughly 40 complaints of fraudulent or nonexistent tickets involving the same vendor. The estimated total value of these tickets is more than $70,000.
The HRPS Financial Crimes Unit is investigating these occurrences. At this point, no arrests have been made.
Any Halton resident who has fallen victim to a scam involving tickets can report it to the HRPS by calling our non-emergency number at 905 825 4777. Anyone residing outside of Halton is asked to contact their local police service.
Residents are asked to use extreme caution when purchasing tickets and be aware of potential frauds and scams.
