The Milton Menace had a great weekend!
On Friday, November 15th, the Menace went into Oakville to take on the Blades in some cross-region action. The Menace were coming off a tough overtime road loss to the worst team in the OJHL, the Caledon Admirals, the night before.
It was a good start for Milton, as Dean Deligeorgis would net his 4th of the year, assisted by Alessandro Petreccia and Marco Costante, just two minutes into the game. At the halfway mark of the first period, Madden MacDougall would score his 6th of the season, assisted by Owen Kindree and Ivan Fabjan. The Menace led 2-0 after the first period.
In the second, Oakville would find the back of the net. That would be the lone goal of the frame, so the Menace led 2-1 heading into the second intermission.
No goals were scored in the final period, so the Menace clinched the 2-1 win.
In net was the all-star, Austin McKillop. He faced 29 shots, stopping 28 of them for a .965% save percentage.
Later on in the weekend, the Menace returned home to play the Lindsay Muskies.
Ashtyn Pacheco started the scoring early, grabbing his 6th of the year, assisted by Ivan Fabjan and the newly acquired Luke Johnston. The Muskies would retaliate with a goal of their own. It would be tied at 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Fabjan scored a goal of his own. His 4th was assisted by Madden MacDougall and Dean Deligeorgis. Once again, Lindsay was quick to get one back. The game was tied once again heading into the intermission.
It almost seemed like this game was destined for overtime before Owen Kindree found the back of the net with 21 seconds left on the clock. His 2nd of the season was assisted by Deligeorgis and Alessandro Petreccia. It was the game winner, with the Menace getting the 3-2 victory.
Austin McKillop was the netminder once again. He stopped 25 of 27 shots, giving him a .925% save percentage.
The majority of Menace players now get a rest as the team waits until Friday, November 22nd to play the Leamington Flyers at the Milton Memorial Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
In the meantime, Menace Captain Graeme MacAuley and netminder Austin McKillop will head off to take part in the All-Star portion of the 2024 Battle of Ontario from Tuesday, November 19th to Wednesday, November 20th. Originally joining them was leading scorer Gabriel Ciarallo, but he was traded over the weekend for Toronto Jr. Canadiens Captain Luke Johnston.
