Calling all artists!
The Town of Milton is inviting youth and professional artists to participate in an interactive and collaborative art project to create a large-scale mural to be displayed at the Milton Sports Centre.
The project entitled Colours of Change: Building a Safer Tomorrow will bring together local youth, in Grades 9-12, with a local professional artist to design a mural that expresses a sense of belonging and visibility in their community. The mural will be unveiled in late March 2025.
Up to 15 youth participants will be selected and will be guided by a local professional artist in designing the mural. Selected youth will be invited to attend three workshops this fall and early winter to develop the design concept. No prior art experience is required for the youth participants.
Professional artists living in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area are invited to submit expressions of interest and all applications will be reviewed based on past work and experience with community art creation.
Interested youth and professional artists can apply online until Friday, November 15th.

This project is hosted in collaboration with the Town of Milton and the Milton Youth Task Force. It’s made possible thanks to funding received from the federal government’s Building Safer Communities Fund.
