The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has laid charges on the driver who killed a Milton man in a collision in September.
35-year-old Andrew Couto was the driver of the GMC Sierra that collided with multiple vehicles at the intersection of Ontario Street South and Derry Road, leading to the death of a 55-year-old Milton man.
Couto is facing Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance – Causing Death contrary to the Criminal Code.
He is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Milton at a later date.

FIRST UPDATE (Published on Saturday, September 21st at 7:05 a.m.)
We have more details on the collision in Milton on Friday evening.
The crash occurred a roughly 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20th, at the intersection of Derry Road and Ontario Street South in Milton. A GMC Sierra driven by a 35-year-old Milton man was going westbound on Derry Road when it collided with several vehicles in the area of the intersection. The GMC continued forward and crossed the center median west of the intersection where it overturned and struck several eastbound vehicles, coming to rest in the eastbound lanes of Derry Road. A total of eight vehicles were involved.
One of the eastbound vehicles that was struck by the GMC was a Toyota Corolla operated by a 55-year-old Milton man. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to a trauma center where he remains in critical condition.
At the time of writing, no deaths have been reported by the HRPS.
The investigation is ongoing.

A collision has closed a Milton road.
On the afternoon of Friday, September 20th, a truck collided with a sedan while driving the intersection of Ontario Street South and Derry Road. This collision has resulted in Derry being closed to traffic in both directions.
