The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest in a stabbing incident that took place at the Oakville GO station this past weekend.
On Sunday October 6th, at roughly 12:50 p.m., police were called to the Oakville GO transit station at 214 Cross Avenue for reports of a stabbing. A woman was stabbed in the back with a knife and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police located a suspect near the scene of the stabbing and placed him under arrest.
23-year-old Matthew Valley of No Fixed Address has been charged with Attempted Murder and Breach of Probation.
The victim is not known to the accused and investigators believe this to be a random attack.
Valley was held in custody by police pending a bail hearing in Milton.
