Stevenson Memorial Hospital has issued a statement in reply to last week’s release of an investigation into its operations.
That investigation resulted in a Ministry hospital supervisor (Eric Hanna) being appointed as well as a series of recommendations, one of which was its merger with an anchor hospital.
Part of the statement reads that the Hospital has been providing health care services to the local community for almost 100 years.
It has been providing compassionate care for patients at the beginning of life, the end and all stages of life in between.
Stevenson has a dedicated team of staff and physicians whose goal is always to deliver safe, quality care.
They welcome the opportunity to strengthen the hospital and make improvements that will provide a solid foundation for the future, as well as have a lasting positive impact for staff, physicians and the lives of those who use the hospital.
They go on to say they will act upon the recommendations found in the report in a timely, professional, and transparent manner.
